The textile exports were recorded at 16.37 billion U.S. dollars in July-May of the ongoing fiscal year as against the exports of 15.24 billion dollars in July-May of fiscal year 2023-24, the PBS said.

On a year-on-year basis, textile exports witnessed a slight decline of 1.75 percent in May 2025 to 1.53 billion dollars compared with 1.56 billion dollars in May 2024, according to the PBS.

On a month-on-month basis, textile exports surged by 25.42 percent in May 2025 compared to 1.22 billion dollars in April 2025.

The PBS said that cotton cloth, knit wear, bed wear, towels, ready-made garments, tents, canvas and tarpaulins were among the commodities that contributed to export growth in the textile sector.
